這兩天正在看Burnt Money的原著小說。因為電影是根據真實事件改編,小說也算是個途徑了解整個事件的發生經過。不過看了真是大失所望啊!!!
奉勸沒有看過小說的人最好不要去看,不然真是失望的很. Angel 本人在現實中並沒有和Nene死在最後的一幕中,他不但沒有死,而且還逃過了死刑,原因是他頭腦里的聲音說明他有精神分裂。最後更是讓人氣結,他居然死於一次監獄暴動,被獄警開槍鎮壓時打死。哎,不知道Nene離開之後是什麼支撐他活著的。。。。
小說主要是敘述事件,沒有寫太多兩個人之間的感情。一些劇情和電影有出入。而且小說的作者是采訪了很多的當事人,翻查了很多當時的資料,包括法庭的紀錄。因此小說所描寫的大概就是事件的原貌。
看來還是電影拍的好啊。加入了那麼多細膩的感情,以及演員的演繹,使人為之動容。

這部片其實是傳統的商業片,其成功之處在於他們運用傳統的警匪片形式包裝同性戀題材,打破了同性戀/異性戀的二元分界,堂堂正正在主流電影市場上上演,而不是象那些美國同性戀電影那樣,一邊鼻涕一把淚一把地訴說同性戀不被主流社會「理解」的可憐,另一邊卻又力圖宣揚一種跟主流社會價值觀念格格不入的施虐/受虐的所謂同性戀美學(gayness),自我設限,劃地為牢,因而始終走不出顧影自憐的同性戀圈子,如此惡性循環,把同性戀解放運動引進商業盈利的死胡同。
