關於愛因斯坦的故事
一天，幾個物理學家開車去愛因斯坦的家，想請他去看一出新戲。但愛因斯坦正在書房認真地寫科學論文。
「親愛的博士，請你休息一下，和我們去看戲吧！」物理學家們懇求說。「我沒工夫看戲。」愛因斯坦冷冷地說，頭也沒有抬。
「博士，我們有車送你，花不了你多少時間。」
「行了，不用勸我。」愛因斯坦抬頭看幾位物理學家，語重心長地說，「等你們活到60歲，就感到時間的珍貴。」
物理學家們慚愧地低著頭，悄悄地退出愛因斯坦的書房。
愛因斯坦無論年輕還是晚年，都十分珍惜時間，把時間都花在自然奧秘的探索上面了。
一天，下著毛毛細雨，愛因斯坦頭戴寬邊帽，在一座橋的橋頭來回踱步。他手裡拿筆，時而凝神思索，時而在紙片上寫些什麼。對於細雨，他似乎毫無感覺。
「你好，博士！」一位路過的朋友奇怪地問，「你在這干什麼？」

「那你不可惜你的時間？」朋友知博士惜時如金，驚訝地問。

愛迪生的故事
愛迪生 一生只上過三個月的小學，他的學問是靠母親的教導和自修得來的。他的成功，應該歸功於母親自小對他的諒解與耐心的教導，才使原來被人認為是低能兒的愛迪生，長大後成為舉世聞名的「發明大王」。
愛迪生從小就對很多事物感到好奇，而且喜歡親自去試驗一下，直到明白了其中的道理為止。長大以後，他就根據自己這方面的興趣，一心一意做研究和發明的工作。他在新澤西州建立了一個實驗室，一生共發明了電燈、電報機、留聲機、電影機、磁力析礦機、壓碎機等等總計兩千餘種東西。愛迪生的強烈研究精神，使他對改進人類的生活方式，作出了重大的貢獻。
「浪費，最大的浪費莫過於浪費時間了。」 愛迪生常對助手說。「人生太短暫了，要多想辦法，用極少的時間辦更多的事情。」
一天，愛迪生在實驗室里工作，他遞給助手一個沒上燈口的空玻璃燈泡，說:「你量量燈泡的容量。」他又低頭工作了。
過了好半天，他問:「容量多少? 」他沒聽見回答，轉頭看見助手拿著軟尺在測量燈泡的周長、斜度，並拿了測得的數字伏在桌上計算。他說:「時間，時間，怎麼費那麼多的時間呢?」愛迪生走過來，拿起那個空燈泡，向裡面斟滿了水，交給助手，說：「裡面的水倒在量杯里，馬上告訴我它的容量。」
助手立刻讀出了數字。
愛迪生 說:「這是多麼容易的測量方法啊，它又准確，又節省時間，你怎麼想不到呢？還去算，那豈不是白白地浪費時間嗎?」
助手的臉紅了。
愛迪生喃喃地說:「人生太短暫了，太短暫了，要節省時間，多做事情啊!」
